De Bontekoe joins LanguageOne

Starting academic year 2018-2019 LanguageOne will be responsible for Dutch Language and Culture (NTC) education in Kuala Lumpur

Recently, the board of De Bontekoe and the management of LanguageOne agreed that De Bontekoe will be transferred to LanguageOne per academic year 2018-2019.

Approximately 115 students participate in the NTC lessons at De Bontekoe in Kuala Lumpur. Elleke van Thiel, chairwoman of the board: “We were looking for a partner that could secure the continuity and quality of Dutch education for its students, and found LanguageOne to meet these requirements.”

The board of De Bontekoe is pleased that a renowned and internationally operating organization like LanguageOne will continue to provide its students excellent mother tongue education and that the team will be joining an organization that values sharing knowledge and talent development.

LanguageOne is also looking forward to an inspiring collaboration. Jaap Mos, managing director of LanguageOne: “The expansion into Kuala Lumpur fits the strategy of LanguageOne to create strong regional clusters supporting close collaboration between teams. The school, together with LanguageOne Singapore, Hong Kong, Perth, Shanghai and Suzhou will form the Asia/Pacific cluster. As of academic year 2018-2019 the new name of the school will be LanguageOne Kuala Lumpur.

LanguageOne has over 30 years of experience in providing high quality, contemporary Dutch mother tongue education outside the Netherlands. Currently, about 1,000 students receive Dutch language and culture education at one of the seven LanguageOne locations in Europe, the Middle and Far East and Australia. A team of 70 skilled and experienced teachers familiar with working in an international educational setting, ensure children living abroad continue to develop their own language.
